Our client is a leading manufacturer and trader of apparel and operates across three different segments – retail, wholesale, and distribution – with 1,000 unique product lines. The system they relied on was not easy to use and did not meet their requirements, resulting in manual inventory management and more errors. The client was looking for a comprehensive solution to minimize manual efforts required in managing inventory, reduce operational costs, and process orders faster.

Key Challenges

The client was processing more than 10,000 orders per day; but faced challenges in supply chain, inventory, and warehouse management. The key challenges they were facing included:

  • Inventory Tracking Issues – Difficulty in tracking inventory due to the absence of a proper system.
  • Order Fulfillment Challenges – Inefficiency in locating products and fulfilling orders due to a lack of organized inventory arrangements.
  • Manual Inventory Management – Products were placed randomly, and details were maintained manually on a whiteboard.
  • Vendor Data Inaccuracy – Errors in vendor-updated data impacted inventory accuracy.
  • Outdated System Limitations – Visibility of unnecessary information in the outdated application.

  • Customized Backend for Order Fulfillment - Customized backend on Odoo for retail and wholesale order fulfillment.
  • Warehouse Transfer Module – Developed a warehouse transfer module using a separate framework for tracking stock and managing internal box movements.
  • Wholesale Order Restriction Logic – Applied restriction logic for wholesale order fulfillment.
  • Warehouse Operations Flow – Developed a complete flow for tracking inventory, pick-up, quality check, shipping label generation, and shipping methods for global and local shipping.
  • PWA System for QR Code Scanning – Built a new system (PWA) using Odoo 15 for product and location scanning through QR codes, streamlining the fulfillment process.
  • Intuitive Warehouse Application – Developed a highly intuitive application to fetch product location details, allowing users to find the exact shelf, rack, or bin.
