Overview

Our client runs an online learning platform, specializing in offering courses on diverse technologies. Along with courses, the platform encourages students to engage with quizzes and assignments for better understanding. The client leverages Salesforce to manage student data, such as course enrollment, quiz scores, assignment completion, attendance, etc., across different records. They sought a seamless solution to consolidate student data, enabling educators to track student performance and identify areas of improvement.

Challenges

Here are a few major challenges our client encountered:

  • Fragmented Student Data: Student data, such as the number of courses enrolled in, quiz scores, assignment status, attendance, etc., were stored across different Salesforce objects. This resulted in data fragmentation.
  • Time-Consuming Reporting: Our client manually extracted each student’s quiz scores in different course modules to evaluate their performance. This process was time-consuming and more prone to errors. Consequently, educators were not able to quickly identify students with less academic performance and requiring more attention.
  • Limited Personalization: The lack of real-time, consolidated views of student data made it challenging for the client to offer personalized recommendations or feedback to students.
  • Inconsistent Monitoring: There was no uniform way to monitor student performance across subjects. As a result, educators found it difficult to pinpoint trends and patterns in learning outcomes.

Our Solution

We implemented RollUp Magic to automate the process of aggregating student data from various records. With our solution, the EdTech client was able to:
