So, without giving a second thought, let’s dive straight into a quick summary of some of the key features of the Salesforce Summer ’21 release that captivated most Salesforce professionals and end-users.
Flow Updates
With each new release, Salesforce’s Flow updates come with a number of surprising improvements, and this time too the Summer ’21 release didn’t disappoint us.
Now, we can –
- Directly debug the Record Triggered Flow with the help of the native Flow Debug Tool.
- Understand and check the consumption of various governor limits and transaction boundaries
- Make use of a new operator called IS CHANGED in the Record Trigger Flow Criteria options.
- Simply serialize the collection variables in an organized manner
- Include record fields straight away the to screen in ScreenFlow – BETA
Dashboard Image is Downloadable
Another great addition to the Salesforce 2021 release. Now, you can easily download a dashboard in PNG format that can later be embedded in documents, presentations, or anywhere else! Earlier, the only way to get the Dashboard image is by using the Screen Capture app. Note that these changes only apply to the Lightning Experience.
Addition of Analyzed Button
Adding the Analyze button has been of great help to end users in mapping their insights and performance predictions for the custom Lightning page layouts. The ‘Analyze’ button option is provided within Lightning App Builder and is good at analyzing instances of fields, records page’s metadata, and related list components.
This button will provide estimated page load times for desktop and page performance index for mobile, thus helping to improve page loading speed for a better end-user experience.
Save Time on Mass Actions in Split View Feature
There is no longer a need to switch back to a ListView to work on multiple records. Split View gives you access to process multiple records at one go. Select items in the Split View list and apply an action to all of them in either standard or console view. Then, you are good to go.
Mass actions in a split view follow the same logic like that in a table view. In split view, inline editing isn’t supported, so you’ll see checkboxes only if the object has mass actions available.
Native Sales Navigator Integration for LinkedIn
Now, by taking advantage of the LinkedIn Sales Navigator native integration feature, sales reps can connect with customers in more nuanced ways. Previously, only in the AppExchange app, LinkedIn Navigator integration was possible, but with the recent Summer ’21 release, Salesforce has made possible the integration of LinkedIn Navigator into the Lightning page layout for Leads, Contacts, Account pages, and Opportunities. Sales managers can also include InMail and connection requests.
Dynamic Actions Bar
The more actions on your page layout, the worse the list of actions is managed, but now no more. With the Dynamic Actions Bar update, you can easily configure and add visibility rules for actions on your Records pages directly from the Lightning App Builder. Following are the ways, users can benefit from this feature. One can –
- add, rearrange and remove actions directly from the Lightning App Builder with a modern UI and live preview.
- use the Visibility option to show or hide actions to ensure that users only see what you want them to see.
- manage layout on your pages in the Lightning App Builder
